Safety work is aimed at the prevention of accidents. Reasons for this sit at a higher level. That’s because the public demands it. Maintaining public confidence in flying is at the top of the tree. Without safety risk maintained at a level low enough for us to buy a ticket and fly without undue concern, there’s no industry. Or at best a small one. That’s the challenge for new forms of aviation.
